1. Exmouth beach

Blue flag winning Exmouth Beach is a short walk from the town centre and extends for near two miles from the mouth of the Exe in the east to Orcombe point in the west.  Long and sandy  the beach is perfect for a range of activities, from family holidays through to watersports adventures

Local services



  • Dogs are allowed all year at the two ends of the beach from the third break water east and from the Octagon café west
  • Dogs are prohibited from the centre portion of the beach from May 1 to September 30

Be aware

  • The beach is lifeguarded during the summer season only
  • There is an area where the River Exe runs close to the beach… bathing is not permitted in this area for your safety (clearly indicated by large signs) 
  • Powered watercraft are limited to 8 knots between the yellow marker boys and the shoreline to protect bather safety
  • You're not allowed to light an open fire on the beach.
